We (I) Feel like a Fraud
Wednesdays are my full day to work and today I decided to go through my website and update it where needed.
Going through the pages and reading the word "we" everywhere just didn't sound right to me. It's just me (Erica) over here! Although I have the support from my family, I am running the day-to-day operations on my own. (Okay, let's be honest, day-to-day is a little stretch as well. I work when I can! 7 months pregnant with a two year old running around doesn't always allow me to work every day).
I know all the business gurus will cringe reading this (that's IF my message gets to them - let's hope right!?). What's the phrase "Fake it till you make it"? Well I have a terrible poker face. Although one of my claim to fames is I joined my husband's poker game one night in college and WON!
So today I decided that I will no longer refer to myself or Attempting Less as "we". No "About Us" page or "We are available to chat". I'm owning up to the fact that it is just me over here and I am okay with that!
I am proud to say it is just me running things and not afraid to let the world (aka my small and LOYAL group of customers) to know that I am a human, a Mom, AND a business owner.
One day I would love to grow a small team, provide employment opportunities, and use the term "we". For today, I am happy with it just being me!
